These Terms of Service govern your use of Knot, a shared balance tracking app. By using Knot, you agree to these Terms.
Knot helps users record, split, review, confirm, dispute, and resolve informal shared balance records with people they know. Knot can identify relationships between balances, keep activity and receipts organized, and let users save supported payment details or open supported third-party payment apps when they choose to settle.
Knot is not a bank, payment processor, lender, credit provider, collection service, or financial advisor. Knot does not issue loans, process or hold payments, charge interest, enforce settlement, or collect money on behalf of users. Payment shortcuts and saved payment details are convenience features only; any transfer is completed outside Knot through the payment method or third-party service users choose.
You are responsible for the information you add to Knot. You should only create shared balance records that are accurate and involve people you know. Other users may confirm, dispute, decline, or respond to records involving them.
Knot provides tools for tracking and organizing shared balances, but Knot is not responsible for resolving private disagreements between users. If there is a disagreement about a shared balance record, users are responsible for resolving it directly.
You agree not to misuse Knot, submit false or abusive records, harass other users, attempt to access another person’s account, interfere with the app’s operation, or use Knot for illegal or harmful activity.
Knot may send transactional SMS messages for phone verification and account access. Balance updates, confirmations, settlement activity, and other account events may be delivered through in-app or push notifications. Message and data rates may apply to SMS verification. Knot does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.
You may delete your account from within the Knot app. When your account is deleted, Knot removes your login access, profile information, device tokens, and account membership links. Shared balance history involving other users may be retained and shown as “Deleted user” so other users’ records remain accurate.
Knot may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time. We may also update, improve, or modify the app as it develops.
Knot is provided as-is. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Knot is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for disagreements, losses, settlement issues, or balance record issues between users.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify users through the app, website, or other appropriate means.
